... sorry, D, no quarter bouncing video yet.
I know, I know. I'm totally a slacker.
Honestly, I remember to do it until my quarter bouncer comes around and then I just get all distracted by his hunkiness and how much I love him.
Right??? I kind of want to throw up over that mush I just wrote.
So, I promise to set a reminder on my phone. We will get it done before the end of the month. I promise.
But what else has been going on? Not a whole lot. I'm getting back into running, with a few runs here and there, trying to learn where some good trails are for shorter runs and establish a decent route for longer runs.
Interestingly enough, I read on the Dublin (Ireland) Marathon website that trails or softer surfaces are good for most runs, but longer training runs should be run on the same surface that your planned race should be on. Makes sense to me, but I'm just curious, has anyone else heard this?
Saturdays were originally dubbed "Speedy Saturdays" for speedwork, but then I wonder when I'm going to get my longer runs in. On Mondays? I guess that could work.
Being neurotic about my dog, however, I worry.
It was easier when I was just running. Now that I'm trying to get into the weight room and into the yoga studio regularly, all I feel is that I'm one of "those people" who just got a dog and then ignores it all the time.
Seriously, parents of children, how do you do it all?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?
My friend Holly, has now competed in her THIRD bikini (think fitness, not drunk college girls) competition and she has 6 year old twins at home plus three other kiddos! It amazes me.
Did I mention she has her fourth competition coming up in a month?
How does she do it??? How do you all train for marathons?!?!?!!?!?!?!?
All you Moms out there, you are Wonder Women.
No. Joke.
Ok ok, Dads you are like super heroes, too. =)
I'm no Mom, but when all my kids were at home, I got my training in early and didn't waste time off work. Now that 3 of 4 are gone, I still get up early but waste more time again (mostly TV). Kids are different than dogs, though, in that they usually reach a point where they can entertain themselves, which helps a lot.
ReplyDeleteSigh ... I was really hoping for a different solution. Mornings have always been a struggle for me.
DeletePs - You totes qualify as a Super Dad.
I am taking the high road and not mentioning anything about any loose change or rear ends.
ReplyDeleteI have no children or dogs so no advice in that regard. I do know that mornings can be your friend. I am just dying to run at 5:30AM again this year.
Was that at all convincing?
Glad you and ICG are doing well. Don't worry about Jeff. If humans were as loyal, the world would be problem free.
